Both of the posts that I read on Cooperative catalyst were well thought out ways in helping our students become better students. First off the start was getting a hold of your rep to save federal money for our students and schools. Secondly the post that he stated on coop and classroots to help get educators together to work together on issues with school and schedules on how students learn. This group of teachers are combining together to get our students better educated to become our future leaders. Or as a main reason in the Presidents eyes to get our country back on top of education. I have one question on that. How do we get back on top of education if we are taking money out of education? If you want to help out education here are the websites for the House of Representatives and U.S. Senate. http://www.senate.gov/ http://www.house.gov/

PLN update
Here is an update for my PLN. I have used twitter to find out more information that I will need to become a successful coach and teacher. The people I follow helps when I need information on what I need to be a teacher such as info on blogs that will help me be successful. The news helps when I want world updates and I can talk about those in classes to get students to know what is going on around them in the world not just locally. Both of these and a new list I just added is coaches which can give me a larger network to find jobs and coaching information.
Special Assignment
1. I think I missed the metaphor from some odd reason I can not explain it. We are reading to much into the blog post and not relaxing while we read it and are going to in depth with the post. Seeing past obvious metaphors that are in the post.
2. If only every child has access to pencils from Tom Johnson blog.
3. We can use them and then after we use them explain to them what a metaphor is and what that metaphor means.
4. I believe we use metaphors to get ideas out into the public or just can not think of a funny way to say something and that comes out. I really don’t know how much I use metaphors but I might use them a bunch or not at all.

Blog Post 13
Alex is a way to connect students, teachers, parents, and pretty much anybody that is in the education field to help with information on what is required to be taught. It has a place that includes areas where it gets updates from such as a community. You have areas where you can search for anything you want. I put in a search for football and it came out with lessons that you can do in math, stats, and economics to name a few. Has an area with educational podcasts on any subject you are teaching. Has an area with different technologies that could be used to help you as a teacher which are some of the same I learned in edm310.
Alex is a great website to work with no matter what you are teaching. Most of the areas are actually all of the areas will help you succeed as a teacher. Go into the lesson plane area and put in major and grade and it comes up with lesson plans you could use for that subject. When I start teaching this is going to be a great website that I will go to at the begging of my career.
What is ACCESS should be running through your head. Well it is a network that will connect you with teachers and students across Alabama. Mostly in the areas of distance learning which comes in handy no matter what age. It gives you extra courses for credit in college to high school students that are enrolling in to college. It is a different way to get your technology courses going without the extra stuff needed or money. The main goal for access is to give Alabama high school students a way to get additional education offerings in school before graduation.

C4K April summary
I really thought it was exciting how he used the yo-yo in the talent show. I have tried to use the yo-yo but never got a hang of it. The sea is a great but dangerous place to be or live but it is also a beautiful place to see wonderful stuff. The sea is wonderful after a long days work to relax at the water all around you on a ship. We had different fads in school and most of it died when you go older but some of them are still around today. I really don't live my life through fades. The class went to a volcano in Hawaii and had some fun learning about volcanoes erupting. I would love to visit Hawaii and check out the different parts of the island. There are so many places that I never have been I can not wait to see more of the world.

Blog Post 12
Do an interview with a role model in the community. Whatever you believe a role model is up to you to interview that person. examples would be a teacher, coach, police officer, firefighter, or anyone that you think is a role model. Ask them if they consider themselves role models for younger generations to come. Write a blog on the interview you did with a question and answer report on it. Some example questions could be. If you think of others go ahead and ask. Be creative with the questions. For extra credit add the interview in the blog.

Special Assingment
1. What do you know (or have you found out) about Mr. McClung that is reflected in the way he has constructed his class blog?
He pays meticulous attention to detail and want his students to do the same.
2. Comment on what you would say about Mr. McClung as an educator.
He seems like a good one.
3. I asked above that you read Mr. McClung's "rules" and think about them. What do they say about Mr. McClung, his teaching, and his connection with his students? What is your reaction to these rules (and guides) as a student and as an aspiring teacher?
Some of his rule are different I think never heard of rules where you have students repeat items that you have said but he has a good connection with his students. He wants students to communicate but they can not talk without raising there hands seems confusing to me but other than that seems like ok rules for a classroom setting.
4. What was the first thing under Everyone needs? Why do you suppose that is the first requirement?
Then all students can write down due dates and not be late on work that is due on a certain date.
5. Note the penalties for being late (under Homework). Compare them with my penalties for being late. Comment.
I agree with the plan on grading but not sure on exactly taking it that far, might at time for them to turn it in instead of cutting back on grades.
6. Read carefully his paragraph about what he hopes to accomplish with his blog. Comment and apply to your own aspirations as a teacher.
He wants to keep class fun and new to students so they do not get complacent and that is a great idea. I hope to do the same in my class.
7. I asked you to review at least two Useful Links in depth after reviewing all of them. Which two did you review in depth? Describe each of the two. How might each be used? Why do you think each made Mr. McClung's list.
The propaganda used during and before WWII was a huge reason they were at war and guys read was also one I liked. The propaganda in Nazi Germany before WWII got Germany wanting war after how the other powers striped up Germany after WWI. They used all means necessary to keep there people in touch with why they wanted war. The guys read campaign is a good one because that is true most guys will not read unless it interests them.
8. Under Internet Safety I asked you to read carefully the rules Mr. McClung sets forth for safely using the internet. Comment on these rules. Are there any you would add or subtract.
9. In the C4K part of this blog I asked that you look carefully at one of the categories under which you assigned post was filed. What did you find? Select one of the posts in the category and review it for me.
10. Mr. McClung uses Edublog as his blog host. In some ways it may seem more "advanced." But Blogger has many abilities that we have not covered in EDM310. This leads to this question: Is there anything (or things) that Mr. McClung can do with his blog that you would like to do in Blogger?
The chat box seemed like a nice touch to being able to keep in touch with students and there parents.
11. In what ways does Mr. McClung make his blog useful to parents, teachers, administrators, students like you, and others?
That way others can see what is going on in his class.
12. How does Mr. McClung's 8th grade blog differs from other blogs you have visited including other 8th grade blogs? Why the differences do you think?
The difference is his is more in dept with other information for visitors to his blog.
He pays meticulous attention to detail and want his students to do the same.

Blog Post 11
This is a great way to get young students started on computers so they know how to correctly look for information in the world. They learned items that most young kids can not do or wont and that is to share and motivate each other in ways of ideas. Since i have started comment 4 kids I have read a lot about different student age blogs and learned from all of them what they like or what they want to do for fun.
I am a student in University of South Alabama in Dr. Strange’s class. You could use mostly the same ideas on blogging or twitter to find information from all over the world. When you have students typing up there work you can see them grow in proper English language and writing from the beginning of the year to the end. By stating we are handicapped in ways such as technology makes a good point on if we don't grow as teachers and educators then our students will falter later in life because they will be behind. By letting kids post on blogs and other Internet pages then they will fill better because they feel like they are writing something someone wants to read instead of wasting paper then no one sees it. Some off her best points were new teachers using technology to get information from the older or more experienced ones. If we work together as one in schools then as teachers we can get our students more prepared and we also can be ready for anything that gets put in our way.

Blog Post 10
I found it interesting how he stated that his education was failing him. We all have had classes like that and it is really hard to learn facts like that. Sitting in a lecture hall writing down notes has never helped me especially in something that are not my subject bests. They both state how you could not talk to each other even if it was about school work or the subject that you were writing notes about. The most difficult issue I have a problem with is paying money for a class and the professor doesn't learn your name, well it is hard when you have 400 students to teach.
I like the idea especially when you do not force the students to learn something in a normal class setting such as I talk you listen and memorize. Getting the students parents involved with school has been almost guarantied to raise that students grades. We do not learn by taking tests that is just a measure of someones ability to memorize items. This is why I love classes that are hands on because that is how I learn.
